Dr. Phil Tappe joined the university in 1991 and was appointed Director of the Arkansas Forest Resources Center of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and Dean of the School of Forest Resources of the University of Arkansas at Monticello in September, 2011.  He is responsible for leading the university system’s coordinated forest resources program, which includes the development and delivery of programs in education, research and extension that enhance and ensure the sustainability of forest-based natural resources.  Tappe currently serves as the chair of the southern region of the National Association of University Forest Resources Programs.  Tappe’s teaching and research has focused on forest and wildlife management.
