Professional Organizations and Service =======================================================================================================
1) Arkansas Best Management Practices
2) Landowner Management Information Landowner groups such as the Ozark Woodland Owners Association have requested presentations on financial considerations under times of distress, dealing with insect and disease pests, how to grow a high-quality hardwood forest, and other issues. I participate directly in these workshops whenever possible, or assist other faculty in scheduling these extension programs into their teaching and research schedules. 3) New Fact Sheets series from SFR In August 2002, faculty of the School of Forest Resources and other members of the Arkansas Forest Resources Center will participate in an extension fact-sheet writing workshop. The object of this workshop is to learn how to convert research knowledge into fact sheets and also to prepare first drafts of new fact sheets during the workshop. (links to PDF files with fact sheets coming) (suggestion for a fact sheet? E-mail Dr. Pelkki)
