My current research work in forestry focuses on three areas:

1) Stand-level management.  Field studies and computer simulation models.

2) Rural economic development focusing on forest-based manufacturing.

3) Biofuels and carbon sequestration.

I have also been involved in restoration technologies in Kentucky and Western Siberia in the past.  While these programs are not currently active, I maintain an interest in economically efficient ecological restoration.
