Friends often gather in town in the evenings to talk, listen to music, and dance.

On weekends and holidays, people from Novosibirsk go to their dachas, or to many relaxation camps along the Ob Sea, a 200 km long lake that was created in the 1950's by the damming of the Ob River south of Novosibirsk, near the city of Akademgordok. 

Here is the Kamashev family dacha, located outside of Novosibirsk.  Oleg and his father spend many hours gardening and making continuing improvements on this summer house.  The gardens are incredibly beautiful and productive, producing tremendous amounts of vegetables and fruits despite the short growing season.
