Data Files

All files with the *.dat extension contain unformatted (ASCII) data for the variables mentioned in FIELD  METHODS.  Each *.dat file is accompanied by an explanatory file with the *.doc extension.

The data are separated into the main agroforestry study data and data from the comparative studies.

CLUSTERS

Agrotree.dat, Agrotree.doc - Dbh, ground-line diameter, and total tree height measurements of loblolly pine (crop trees) and shortleaf pine (nurse trees) for three growing seasons.

Cluster.dat, Cluster.doc - average diameter, average ground-line diameter, and average total tree height measurements of loblolly pine (crop trees) and shortleaf pine (nurse trees) for three growing seasons by cluster.

Agrosite.dat, Agrosite.doc - average diameter, average ground-line diameter, and average total tree height measurements of loblolly pine (crop trees) and shortleaf pine (nurse trees) for three growing seasons by site.

COMPARATIVE STUDIES

Regular 8 x 10 plantation - height measurements for three growing seasons of loblolly pine trees to compare if agroforestry changes growth relative to regular forestry practices.
    Reg810.dat
    Reg810.doc

Wide spacing trial - height measurements for three growing seasons of crop trees (loblolly pine) grown without nurse trees (shortleaf pine) to determine if agroforestry changes growth of trees.
    Widespac.dat
    Widespac.doc

Competition mortality - height measurements for three growing seasons of trees to investigate competition mortality between loblolly pine trees.
    Compmort.dat
    Compmort.doc
