Monitoring Wildlife
NatureMapping is the application of scientific
methods to collecting data about when and where you observe
wildlife. This section describes some guidelines for observing
wildlife, whether as a casual observer or designing a monitoring
protocol. Select the wildlife category of interest to learn more.
Arkansas Animals
– This section divides wildlife into mammals, birds,
reptiles, and amphibians. Feel free to record other wildlife
species as well (e.g., species of crayfish or butterflies), however
you will need to develop your own methods. Select the wildlife
category of interest to learn more about minimum protocols,
essential equipment, animal identification, hints for observation,
and resources.
Selecting a Site – Look here for points
to think about before selecting your NatureMapping site, and what
you will need to know about the site.
