Welcome to the Arkansas NatureMapping web site.NatureMapping is a hands-on environmental science and education program that joins naturalists, youth, teachers, and natural resource professionals in monitoring wildlife in the state. It combines wildlife study, forestry, technology, and the scientific process in helping understand what wildlife are present and where they live in Arkansas. The Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, in partnership with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and a number of other agencies and organizations, trains people about how to monitor and report the wildlife you see and the habitats in which they live. This can include wildlife at a backyard feeder, on an Ozark hiking trail, in a school yard, or where you work . . . anywhere you observe wildlife. The data you collect can be reported to us. This will provide wildlife biologists, naturalists, and the citizens of this state with valuable information about what you see and where you see it, to keep “common wildlife common” in Arkansas. Currently, we are constructing a place on this web site for reporting the data you collect directly on-line, so that it can be used and viewed by you or anyone else that has an interest in Arkansas’ wildlife and habitats. Join us! Consider becoming a NatureMapper, whether as an individual, school class, local organization, business, or community. We invite you to explore this website and learn more about how you can contribute to the Arkansas NatureMapping Program. For more information on the Arkansas NatureMapping Program, please contact:
