Welcome to the Wildlife Habitat Restoration on Private Lands Conference
.
This first-ever two-day conference will bring together professionals from many agencies and organizations dedicated to habitat restoration on private lands.  The conference is intended to improve communications among and between agencies and organizations, offer cross-training about private lands programs, share landowner success stories, learn about successful on-the-ground techniques, and provide updates about farm bill programs and other information of relevance to those working with private landowners.  If successful, we hope this conference will become an annual event for us to share the latest information about wildlife habitat restoration on private lands.

Who should attend?
This conference targets state, federal and non-governmental wildlife and fisheries biologists and foresters engaged in habitat restoration and delivery of conservation programs to private landowners.  This includes Private Lands Biologists (AGFC), US Fish and Wildlife Partners Program Biologists, Ducks Unlimited Biologists, District Conservationists, Foresters (state, consultants), and County Extension Agents to name a few.  For brevity, the target audience will be referred to as private lands professionals.  Some exemplary landowners, particularly those who will be receiving recognition, may attend.  We anticipate university faculty and students may offer presentations about their research regarding the newest habitat restoration techniques.

Conference Objectives

1. Educate private lands professionals about various conservation programs available for private land habitat restoration.

2. Inform private lands professionals about new and innovative habitat and restoration techniques.

3. Recognize private landowners who have successfully restored wildlife habitat and can serve as  examples for other landowners.

4. Offer continuing education credits and in-service training for private lands professionals.

5. Provide networking opportunities for private lands professionals.
